Willem is an associate and strategic partner of Africa Merchant Capital, focused on resources. Willem was previously Business Development Manager (Africa) for Rio Tinto Energy and more recently consulted to the wider mining industry including majors (eg. Rio Tinto and AngloGold Ashanti) and a variety of juniors. His professional experience includes private equity, corporate finance advisory, management consulting, change and project management, as well as auditing. Willem qualified as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, South Africa. Willem holds a LL.B legal degree from the University of Johannesburg and a B.Compt (Hons) degree from the University of South Africa.
